PROGRAM CURRICULUM:
Nail Technician/Specialist and Manicurist 720 hrs.

All the theories include proper ways of cleaning implements and learning to be professional with each other. Students will learn from the nail theories, such as parts of the nail and detecting nail and skin disorders, fungus, and mold, along with the different shapes of nails. Proper care of nails. Each subject will have an objective, which will be reinforced by review questions and quizzes.

We will begin with the basics of having a professional image, bacteriology, and proper sanitation. Then we will enter the physiology of the body, nail disorders, and consultation of individual clients. After mastering these areas, students will enter the basics of manicuring, pedicuring, and massaging. Following this will be demonstrations from various companies and starting the application of tips, overlays, wraps, and nail art.

After all theory is given, students will perform practices with live models to build confidence and acquire experience.

In this program of study Students are taught the technical skills necessary to design, repair, remodel and maintain nails. Students will work with the materials, implements and chemicals commonly used in the nail industry. 

This course is recommended for anyone desiring:

* Employment in the nail industry
* Artistic recognition
* Artistic fulfillment

* Advanced techniques in Art and Competition training

 To use professional manicuring implements supplies, procedures, in shaping 

and polishing the nails.  

 1-Learning objectives:

a) to describe nail structures

b) to describe nail irregularities

c) to identify nail diseases:

d)To identify the basic types or artificial and sculptures nails and nail extensions and them 

uses.

e) to use safety procedures and sanitation methods in manicuring, pedicuring, and extending the nails.

f) to describe chemicals and products

2-Performance Objectives:

a) to give a manicure.

b) to give a pedicure.

c) to give a massage of the hands and feet

d) to extend nails.

e) gel nails

f) electric filing

g) extensive art training

Services required: a minimum of twenty (50). The Board recommends that in meeting 

this requirement students perform a combination of these services; a service constitutes one 

complete set of nails per client for either manicure, pedicure, or nail extensions.

Additional Training in advance techniques used in National and International 

After the student learns the basics, he or she is ready to start on rubber practice hands, which will be given to each student for them to gain confidence before going on to live models.
